Bio

Jessica is a contemporary mixed media artist who is fortunate to live and work in the beautiful North Cornish countryside near to the coast. As a child, she knew she was here to create and over time has used Art as a form of meditation, expression and play throughout her personal and professional life.

Originally from London, Jessica grew up experiencing its wonderful rich and diverse society. The colourful chaos of city life has been a great source of inspiration, but Jessica decided to move to Cornwall with her young family to pursue a more authentic and balanced life.

A big factor in the move to Cornwall was to be as near as possible to the ocean which Jessica takes full advantage of by regularly rowing and surfing, in all weathers.  She finds being out on or near the water, energizing and restorative, appreciating the extreme ever-changing coastline scenery and seasons; The poetic symmetry of the ocean's power, beauty, fierceness, or calm presence of mother nature reflect life itself. When approaching a project, Jessica draws on experiences, memories and the environment to evoke emotions and imagination as the foundation of her work.

Creating art in her studio is a magical and joyful experience, even if the groundwork is from a raw and powerful expression.  The finished work reflects an experimental journey and soul led process, avoiding perfection but instead striving for balance in both art and life.
